CONCLUSION: It is staff’s recommendation that the City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into the Sustainable Communities Grants (State – SB 1) Restricted Grant Agreement to accept the $250,000 grant award for the California Department of Transportation Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant program. Upon adoption of the attached Resolution and Sustainable Communities Grants (State – SB 1) Restricted Grant Agreement, Staff will prepare a Request for Proposals for professional services to develop the Charging Forward: Bell Gardens Zero Emissions Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Plan. The selected proposal shall not exceed grant amount. FISCAL IMPACT: The City is required to contribute $32,390 as a local match, which will be paid for in staff time rather than a direct cash payment from the General Fund. Adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the installation of 22 feet of green curb “20-minute” parking restrictions fronting 8209 Eastern Avenue and 15 feet of blue curb “disabled person parking” fronting 8045 Felix Avenue; and 2. Rescind Resolution No. 2025-79. CONCLUSION: If the City Council adopts the attached resolution, Public Works will proceed with the installation of green curb parking restrictions fronting 8209 Eastern Avenue and blue curb parking restrictions fronting 8045 Felix Avenue. FISCAL IMPACT: The estimated cost for the installation of all parking restrictions, including signage, is $600 and is available in the current Street Maintenance Budget.
