Receive and file this report and take no further action; or 2. Direct staff to coordinate with the City’s Economic Development consultant to identify five to ten (5-10) priority properties and identify opportunities for each property and then work to market the properties for the benefit of the community; or 3. Direct staff to prepare a vacant property registration ordinance for consideration at a future public hearing; or 4. Direct staff to investigate/initiate ballot tax measure. CONCLUSION: Proper management, monitoring and marketing of vacant, underutilized, and abandoned sites are crucial to promoting an economically sustainable environment that impact the quality of life for all residents and visitors alike.
