20251001 LA County Monterey Park City Council Order of Business 9 9.J. S. Atlantic Blvd and E. Emerson Ave Overlay and Slurry Seal Project – Award of Contract It is recommended that the City Council consider: 1. Authorizing the City Manager to execute a public works contract, in a form approved by the City Attorney, with Onyx Paving Company, Inc., in the amount of $898,000 for the Atlantic Blvd and Emerson Ave Overlay and slurry seal Project; 2. Authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve change orders and contingency up to $89,800 (10%) of the contract amount, for a total project cost of $987,800; and 3. Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable. CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act): The City reviewed the environmental impacts of the proposed Ordinance pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq. “CEQA”) and the regulations promulgated thereunder (14 Cal. Code of Regs. §§ 15000, et seq., the “CEQA Guidelines”). The proposed work is for the overlay of an existing City road. Accordingly, no further environmental review is required. 20251001 LA County Monterey Park City Council Order of Business 9 9.I. Award of Contract to Waterline Technologies, Inc. to provide pool chemicals to George Elder Pool and Cascades Waterfall It is recommended that the City Council consider: 1. Authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement, in a form approved by the City Attorney, for a three-year contract (with an option to extend for an additional two years) with Waterline Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $64,124 per year to provide chemicals for George Elder Pool and the Cascades Park Waterfall; and 2. Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable. CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act): The City reviewed the environmental impacts of the proposed activity pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq. “CEQA”) and the regulations promulgated thereunder (14 Cal. Code of Regs. §§ 15000, et seq., the “CEQA Guidelines”). The proposed activity contemplates administrative actions of awarding a contract for the purchase of chemicals needed to maintain George Elder Pool and Cascades Waterfall, and does not contemplate any changes to the physical environment.
