Taking effect in July 2024, the Cross- Connection Control Policy Handbook established new statewide standards for protecting public water supplies from contamination. Adoption of Cross-Connection Control Ordinance No. 1575 formally establishes regulatory authority, program requirements, and appropriate enforcement mechanisms necessary to protect the City’s potable water system from contamination due to cross-connections and backflow events. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council conduct the first reading by title only of Ordinance No. 1575.
