1. ADOPT RESOLUTIONS FOR THE SUBMITTAL TO VOTERS OF AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING\n A SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSACTION AND USE (SALES) TAX FOR THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024\n BALLOT FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING LOCAL CONTROL OF REVENUES\n GENERATED IN AZUSA TO DIRECTLY BENEFIT AZUSANS.\n\n RECOMMENDED ACTION:\n 1) Provide direction to staff on ballot language to be placed in Resolutions Adopting A Supplemental\n Transaction and Use Tax for the November 5, 2024 Ballot; and\n\n 2) Adopt attached Resolution 2024-C40 ordering that an Ordinance be submitted to Azusa voters at the\n General Municipal Election to be held on November 5, 2024, approving enacting an amendment to the\n City’s Transaction and Use Tax; and\n\n 3) Adopt attached Resolution 2024-C41 providing for the filing of primary and rebuttal arguments and\n setting rules for the filing of written arguments regarding a city measure to be submitted at the\n November 5, 2024 general municipal election; and.\n\n 4) Adopt attached Resolution 2024-C42 requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles\n to consolidate a general municipal election to be held on November 5, 2024 with the Statewide General\n Election to be held on that date pursuant to §10403 of the elections code.
