AUTHORIZATION TO AMEND THE EXISTING CONTRACT WITH ROBERT HALF\nINTERNATIONAL INC., EXTENDING THE TERM AND INCREASING COMPENSATION FOR\nPROFESSIONAL TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR THE INFORMATION\nTECHNOLOGY DIVISION (FUNDING SOURCE: GENERAL FUND)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute an\namendment to the existing contract with Robert Half International, Inc. for\nprofessional temporary employment services, extending the term through\nDecember 31, 2024, and adding $136,810 in compensation, increasing the\ntotal contract amount to $276,190.

AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH RISHA ENGINEERING FOR\nSEISMIC RETROFIT AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO THE\nCLAREMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT FACILITY - PHASE 2A (FUNDING SOURCE:\nGENERAL FUND)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends the City Council:\nA. Authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Risha\nEngineering for Phase 2A seismic retrofit and structural engineering services\nfor $83,080, and authorize a ten percent contingency of $8,308, for a total\ncontract amount of $91,388; and\nB. Appropriate $91,388 from the unassigned General Fund balance to fully\nfund the agreement.

AUTHORIZATION TO WAIVE LEGAL CONFLICTS AND ENTER INTO A JOINT DEFENSE\nAGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF LA VERNE TO ALLOW THE CALIFORNIA JOINT\nPOWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY (CJPIA) TO RETAIN KUTAK ROCK, LLP TO JOINTLY\nDEFEND THE CITIES OF CLAREMONT AND LA VERNE IN A DEFENSE OF\nGOVERNMENT CLAIMS AND ANY SUBSEQUENT LITIGATION REGARDING STONE\nCANYON GROUNDWATER SEEPAGE AND FLOODING (FUNDING SOURCE: CJPIA)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a\nconflict waiver and joint defense agreement to allow the CJPIA to retain\nKutak Rock, LLP to jointly defend the Cities of Claremont and La Verne with\nrespect to the Stone Canyon groundwater seepage and flooding claims and\nany subsequent litigation.\nAttachment(s): Letter from Kutak Rock, LLP Dated February 27, 2024\nDraft Joint Defense, Common Interest, and Confidentiality Agreement\nDraft Conflict Waiver
