8. Election of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem by Seated Council Members\nRecommendation -\n1. Newly elected City Clerk receives nominations for Mayor from Council\nMembers. Nominations do not require a second from another Council\nMember. The nominations will be voted on in the order they are made. If a\nnomination is approved by a majority of the Council, the person nominated\nbecomes the Mayor and the process is concluded.\n2. The newly appointed Mayor receives nominations for Mayor Pro Tem from\nCouncil Members. Nominations do not require a second from another\nCouncil Member.
