The\nCity Council will meet in closed session with the City Attorney pursuant to\nGovernment Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) with respect to one matter of pending\nlitigation: City of Jurupa Valley, etc. v. Riverside Mining Company, LTD, et al.\n(Riverside Superior Court Case No. CVRI2303987).

The City Council will meet in closed session with the City\nAttorney pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(4) with respect to four\nmatters of potential litigation. A point has been reached where, in the opinion of\nthe City Attorney, based on existing facts and circumstances, there is a significant\nexposure to litigation involving the City and the City Council will decide whether\nto initiate litigation\n3. A. APPROVAL TO ADOPT THE NEWLY PROPOSED CLASSIFICATION\nAND COMPENSATION/BENEFITS PLAN AND NEW SALARY\nSCHEDULE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024\n1. That the City Council approve the creation of a classification and\ncompensation (salary) plan including, a 13-Step, Pay Grade System, 17 title\nchanges, 15 reclassifications, and 2 classification eliminations.\n2. Approve an increase of one Part Time IT Technician position to full time\n(40 hours per week) and add one new Accountant (I) position to the\norganization.\n3. Adopt the amended Authorized Positions Listing for 2023-24.\n4. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all newly created job\ndescriptions including the ability to make minor non-substantive changes.\n5. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all amended City\nPolicies and Administrative Procedures related to the recommended\nchanges in the Benefits Plan including Tuition Reimbursement, City\nHolidays, Floating Holidays, Bereavement Leave, Sick Leave and PTO\nAnnual Max Accruals.\n6. Authorize the Interim Finance Director to make any necessary budget\nadjustments.\n7. That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2024-03, entitled:\nA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nJURUPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A NEW\nCLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN INCLUDING A\nNEW STEP & RANGE SALARY SCHEDULE FOR ALL\nCLASSIFICATIONS, AMENDED AUTHORIZED POSITION\nLISTING AND BENEFIT PLAN CHANGES\n19.
