B.2 CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION CALLING A JUNE 2, 2026 SPECIAL\nELECTION TO SUBMIT TO LA PUENTE VOTERS A BALLOT MEASURE TO INCREASE THE\nCITY’S EXISTING 1/2% TRANSACTIONS AND USE TAX, REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION\nWITH AND ASSISTANCE FROM THE REGISTRAR FOR LOS ANGELES COUNTY,\nESTABLISHING OTHER PROCEDURES; MAKING FINDINGS REQUIRED BY ARTICLE XIIIC,\nSECTION 2(B) OF THE CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION; AND SUBMITTING FOR FIRST\nREADING AN ORDINANCE EFFECTUATING THE PROPOSED TAX INCREASE SUBJECT TO\nVOTER APPROVAL\nStaff Recommendation: (1) Adopt Resolution No. 26-5975 to place a measure on the June 2, 2026, ballot\nand make findings required by Article XIIIC, Section 2(b) of the California Constitution; and (2)\nApprove for first reading Ordinance No. 26-995 effectuating the same subject to voter approval of the\ncontemplated ballot measure.
