3. RESOLUTION CANCELLING THE JANUARY 2, 2024, CITY COUNCIL MEETING - The\nfirst City Council Meeting in January 2024 is requested to be canceled due to lack of\nbusiness after the holiday season. This item requires a resolution to cancel the meeting.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve the attached Resolution titled, âA\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF LA VERNE, COUNTY OF LOS\nANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CANCELLING THE JANUARY 2, 2024, CITY\nCOUNCIL MEETING.â

4. AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER TO ADMINISTRATIVELY AWARD CONSTRUCTION\nCONTRACT FOR CDBG FUNDED CURB RAMP ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT - This action\nwill authorize the City Manager to execute a contract award for the Community Development\nBlock Grant (CDBG) funded Curb Ramp Accessibility Project to ensure completion of the\nproject by the December 31, 2023, expenditure deadline. The total project costs are\nanticipated to be $288,000.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council authorize the City Manager to administratively\naward the CDBG-funded Curb Ramp Accessibility Project (up to $288,000) and execute any\nnecessary documents, including amendments and change orders, subject to City Attorney\nreview as appropriate.\nOTHER MATTERS

5. LEGISLATIVE PLATFORM FOR THE 2024 LEGISLATIVE SESSION - Adoption of the\n2024 Legislative Platform will help define the Cityâs interests on priority issues and provide\na framework for advocacy efforts at the federal, state, and local levels. The policy guidelines\nand statements included in the proposed 2024 Legislative Platform will allow City staff to\naddress legislative and regulatory issues in a timely and focused manner.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve the Legislative Platform for the 2024\nlegislative session.

6. REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER UPDATE - As has been summarized in the\npast, the Covina and La Verne Police Departments are exploring options to consolidate their\nrespective dispatch centers in an effort to regionalize police communication services and\ngain efficiencies in delivering this critical public safety service. This item provides an update\non those efforts.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council receive and file this Agenda Report.
