3. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FIRE DEPARTMENT’S 2023 REPORT ON\nCOMPLIANCE WITH STATE INSPECTION MANDATES - In accordance with Senate Bill\n1205 (SB1205) all fire departments, within the State of California, annually inspect buildings,\npublic or private, that are utilized as a school, hotel, motel, lodging house, apartment house,\nand certain residential care facilities and report out annually to its administering authority its\ncompliance.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council adopt the Resolution titled, “A RESOLUTION\nOF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA VERNE, CALIFORNIA, ACKNOWLEDGING\nRECIEPT OF A REPORT MADE BY THE FIRE CHIEF OF THE LA VERNE FIRE\nDEPARTMENT’S REQUIREMENT TO INSPECT CERTAIN OCCUPANCIES PURSUANT\nTO SECTIONS 13146.2 AND 13146.3 OF THE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY\nCODE.”

4. MOTOROLA RADIO UPGRADE - The La Verne Police Department’s radio system is in\nneed of an upgrade in order to communicate with the Los Angeles Regional Interoperable\nCommunications System (LA-RICS), a county-wide radio system. The Department’s radios\nare upgradeable, and this item will utilize asset forfeiture funds to complete the task.\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council adopt the Resolution titled, “A RESOLUTION\nOF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA VERNE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE\nFISCAL YEAR 2023-24 ADOPTED BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $105,907.03 WITHIN\nTHE ASSET FORFEITURE FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF MOTOROLA\nRADIO UPGRADES.”\nOTHER MATTERS

5. RENEWAL OF GENERAL SERVICES AGEEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS\nANGELES - The current General Services Agreement between the City of La Verne and the\nCounty of Los Angeles will expire on June 30, 2024. The approval of this agreement will\nextend services for a period of five years, through June 30, 2029, thereby allowing the City\nto contract with the County for various services, if needed\nRECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve a General Services\nAgreement between the City of La Verne and the County of Los Angeles.

6. SWORN EMPLOYEE FIREARMS PROGRAM - The La Verne Police Department proposes\nthe introduction of the Sworn Employee Firearms Program (SEFP). This initiative is\ndeveloped to empower full-time sworn officers to acquire personally preferred, Department-\napproved handguns for on-duty use. The two components to the program include the Sworn\nEmployee Handgun Purchase Program (SEHPP), and the New Employee Equipment\nProgram (NEEP).\nRECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve the implementation of the Sworn\nEmployee Firearms Program, which includes both the Sworn Employee Handgun Purchase\nProgram and the New Employee Equipment Program.\nPage 3|5
