5.\nADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS\nFOR THE STRUCTURAL REPAIRS FOR EXISTING TIEBACK SHORING\nSTABILIZATION WALL ON PALOS VERDES DRIVE WEST (PW-704-23);\nREJECT THE BID PROTEST FROM OPPENHEIMER NATIONAL; AWARD A\nCONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO CALI STATE PAVING, INC. IN THE\nAMOUNT OF $236,800; APPROVE ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION\nEXPENDITURES NOT TO EXCEED $23,680, WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY\n10% OF THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AMOUNT; AUTHORIZE THE\nCITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL CONTRACT DOCUMENTS; AND\nAUTHORIZE THE CITY CLERK TO RECORD THE NOTICE OF\nCOMPLETION UPON ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK BY THE PUBLIC\nWORKS DIRECTOR\nRecommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt\nResolution R25-36 to: 1. 7.\nADOPTION ON SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 770 AMENDING\nTITLE 15 (BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION) OF THE PALOS VERDES\nESTATES MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2025\nCALIFORNIA BUILDING, RESIDENTIAL, ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL,\nPLUMBING, ENERGY, GREEN BUILDING, WILDLAND-URBAN INTERFACE,\nHISTORICAL BUILDING AND EXISTING BUILDING CODES; THE 2025\nCALIFORNIA REFERENCED STANDARDS, THE 2024 INTERNATIONAL\nPROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE; THE 2024 UNIFORM SWIMMING\nPOOL, SPA, AND HOT TUB CODE; AMENDING CHAPTER 8.12 (FIRE\nCODE) OF TITLE 8 (HEALTH AND SAFETY) OF THE PALOS VERDES\nESTATES MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2025\nLOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE CODE, RATIFYING THE MORE\nRESTRICTIVE BUILDING STANDARDS CONTAINED IN THAT CODE, AND\nDELEGATING ENFORCEMENT OF THE FIRE CODE IN THE CITY TO THE\nFIRE CHIEF; AND AMENDING CHAPTER 13.14 ("SANITARY SEWER AND\nINDUSTRIAL WASTE") TO TITLE 13 (PUBLIC SERVICES) OF THE PALOS\nVERDES ESTATES MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE\nLOS ANGELES COUNTY SANITARY SEWERS AND INDUSTRIAL WASTE\nORDINANCE (TITLE 20, DIVISION 2 - LOS ANGELES COUNTY CODE)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt\nOrdinance No. 770 on second reading by title only, and direct staff to file\nthe required documentation with the California Building Standards\nCommission in accordance with State law:\nStaff Report
