The terms of the\nagreement allow for two one-year extensions.\nRecommendation: That the City Council approve the second\namendment and authorize the one-year extension, with the option\nof an additional one-year extension and the increase in the yearly\ncompensation amount from $120,000 to $140,000, which would\nbe paid from the HOME, CDBG, CDBG-CV, and HOME-ARP\nfunding allocation.\nStaff Report

Award of Contract to Pyro Spectaculars by Souza for\nServices at the Annual July 4th Event The Parks and\nRecreation Department is seeking the City Council to\napprove a contract with Pyro Spectaculars by Souza. The\ncontract is to provide a fireworks show for the Annual July\n4th Event at Rosemead Park. This expense will be budgeted\nin the proposed Fiscal Year 2024-25, a total of $135,000 will\nbe allocated to the July 4th Event. The agreement with Pyro\nSpectaculars for fireworks services will be for $31,500.\nRecommendation: That the City Council authorize the City\nManager to approve an agreement with Pyro Spectaculars in an\namount not-to-exceed $31,500, from account number 101-4040-\n5710.\nStaff Report

Discussion on Potential New Policy for Speed Humps At the\nrequest of the City Council, the Public Works Department\ngave a presentation to the Traffic Commission on potentially\npermitting speed humps to control vehicular speeds on\ncertain streets in Rosemead. This agenda item is to present\nto the City Council the feedback received from the Traffic\nCommission and to seek direction and guidance on speed\nhumps, their benefits and negatives, and the need for staff to\nprepare a Speed Hump Policy and Criteria for Council\nconsideration and approval.\nRecommendation: That the City Council discuss and provide\nstaff direction.\nStaff Report
