C.\nRequest to Add National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Proclamation to\nthe List of Approved Proclamations The Taiwan Taipei Economic and Cultural\nOffice in Los Angeles submitted a request to the Rosemead City Council to issue\na proclamation for October 10, 2025, known as National Day of the Republic of\nChina (Taiwan), as part of the commemoration of the founding of the Republic of\nChina (Taiwan) on October 10, 1911, the first democratic republic in Asia. The\nRepublic of China is the first democratic nation in Asia since 1912 and continues\nto champion freedom and democracy in Asia. It represents the resilience,\ndetermination, and spirit of the Taiwanese people in their pursuit of freedom,\ndemocracy, and prosperity.\nRecommendation: That the City Council approve the request to add National Day of\nthe Republic of China (Taiwan) Proclamation for October 10, 2025, requested by the\nTaiwan Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles to the list of Approved\nProclamations.\nStaff Report

D.\nMemorandum of Understanding with the El Monte Union High School District for\nSchool Year 2025-2026 School Resource Deputy Funding The El Monte Union\nHigh School District contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department\nfor a School Resource Deputy. Through a Memorandum of Understanding, the El\nMonte Union High School District is requesting the City of Rosemead to share\n50% of the cost for the School Resource Deputy assigned to Rosemead High\nSchool for the 2025-2026 school year.\nRecommendation: That the City Council approve and authorize the City Manager to\nexecute the Memorandum of Understanding with El Monte Union High School District for\nthe 2025-2026 School Resource Deputy program.\nStaff Report
