CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION 23-12 URGING THE CALIFORNIA\nDEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE TO CREATE AND ENHANCE POLICIES\nTHAT WILL PROVIDE A MORE SUSTAINABLE BLACK BEAR POPULATION IN\nTHE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY AND ADJACENT FOOTHILL COMMUNITIES\nIt is recommended that the City Council approve and adopt Resolution 23-12, urging\nthe California Department of Fish and Wildlife to create and enhance policies that will\nprovide a more sustainable black bear population in the San Gabriel Valley and\nadjacent Foothill communities; and provide City staff with direction on further steps\nconcerning wildlife management within the City.

CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING: CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION 23-13, A\nCONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AMENDMENT AND ADDENDUM TO THE MITIGATED\nNEGATIVE DECLARATION TO UPDATE THE ALVERNO HEIGHTS ACADEMY\nMASTER PLAN TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF PERMANENT CLASSROOM\nBUILDINGS TO ACCOMMODATE TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN TO EIGHTH\n(TK-8TH) GRADE INSTRUCTION AND OTHER CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS AT 200\nNORTH MICHILLINDA AVENUE\nIt is recommended that the City Council continue the public hearing and provide staff\nwith direction.\nCEQA FINDINGS\nAn amended Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) was prepared to evaluate the Alverno\nHeights Academy Master Plan improvements. The amended MND determined that the facts\nupon which the findings were based in the 2011 Initial Study (IS/MND) remain unchanged and\nvalidated that the proposed Refined Project would not create new or substantially more adverse\nimpacts than those evaluated for the approved project.\nDISCUSSION
