a. ANNUAL REPORT OF THE CITY COUNCIL AS SUCCESSOR AGENCY\nSummary:\nThe City Council as Successor Agency meets annually at its first meeting in\nJanuary, unless a special meeting is required. Pursuant to AB1X 26, the City\nCouncil is the designated Successor Agency to the former Signal Hill\nRedevelopment Agency (SHRA). The responsibilities of the Successor Agency\ninclude dissolving the operations of the SHRA. There are two remaining\nSuccessor Agency parcel groups identified in the Long-Range Property\nManagement Plan, as follows: 2435-2461, 2475, and 2485 Gardena Avenue;\nand 630-998 East Spring Street, 631-799 East Canton Street, 631-799 E. 29th\nStreet and 801-999 East 29th Street. The City’s intent is to sell these remaining\nproperties for future economic development purposes. Discussions with Signal\nHill Petroleum as a potential buyer of these properties are ongoing.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 5 High-Functioning Government: Strengthen internal\ncommunication, recruitment, retention, systems, and processes to\nincrease the effectiveness and efficiency of City services.\nRecommendation:\nReceive and file.
