CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO FILL ONE (1) VACANCY\nON THE STANTON PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE FOR APPOINTMENT\nFOLLOWING THE NOVEMBER 2022 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION\nConsideration for appointment to fill one (1) vacancy on the Stanton Public Safety\nCommittee. There is currently one (1) vacancy within the Public Safety Committee due\nto terms expired due to the November 2022 General Municipal Election.\nThe Council Member holding the seat number corresponding to that numbered seat on\nthe Committee shall be responsible for appointment of one Committee Member, with\nmajority approval of the City Council. The terms of office shall coincide with the term of\noffice of the Council Member or Mayor who made the appointment. Additionally, Section\n2.06.030 of the Stanton Municipal Code provides that the City Council, by majority vote,\nmay waive the requirement to interview persons previously appointed by the City\nCouncil and who are requesting re-appointment to another term.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this item is not subject to California Environmental Quality Act\n(“CEQA”) pursuant to Sections 15378(b)(5)(Organizational or administrative\nactivities of governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in\nthe environment);\n2. Conduct an interview with each applicant; and\n3. Make an appointment to fill Seat #3 – Torres on the Stanton Public Safety\nCommittee.\nApril 25, 2023

9D. 2022 HOUSING ELEMENT ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT\nThe 2022 Housing Element Annual Progress Report (APR) was prepared in compliance\nwith Government Code Section 65400 et. Seq., which requires submittal to the\nDepartment of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The report is intended to\nmonitor the City’s progress in meeting its share of regional housing needs. The\nPlanning Commission reviewed the APR and recommended that the City Council\naccept the report.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this item is not subject to California Environmental Quality Act\n(“CEQA”) pursuant to Guideline Section No. 15306 (Class 6, Information Collection),\nprojects which solely encompass information collecting and reporting, such as the\nannual report; and\n2. Receive and file the 2022 Housing Element Annual Progress Report; and\n3. Direct the Community & Economic Development Director to submit the report to\nHCD on behalf of the City.\nEND OF CONSENT CALENDAR
