5) CONSIDERATION OF AMENDMENT TO THE ATHENS SERVICES FRANCHISE\nAGREEMENT TO REFLECT SB 1383 IMPLEMENTATION\nIt is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute Amendment No. 12 to the agreement\nwith Arakelian Enterprises, Inc. dba Athens Services (Athens), incorporating Athens'\nproposed Option 3 for SB 1383 implementation as detailed in this report, for the collection\nof solid waste, recyclables, yard waste and other compostable, and organics, in such final\nform as approved by the City Attorney.\n2. Direct the City Manager to work with Athens to prepare an amended and restated\nagreement incorporating the terms of the existing agreement and all prior amendments to\nthe agreement between the City and Athens, in such final form as approved by the City\nAttorney.
