3. PILOT PROGRAM TO INTRODUCE A REGULAR MUSIC AND DANCING\nSESSION AT PLUMMER PARK [L. MEISTER, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J.\nDEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing staff to initiate a pilot program,\nscheduled to launch in spring 2025, aimed at bringing music to Plummer Park on\na regular basis to foster community engagement and encourage social dancing.\nRECOMMENDATION: 1) Direct staff to initiate a pilot program, to launch in spring\n2025, that brings music to Plummer Park on a regular basis for three to six\nmonths, to encourage community engagement and social dancing; 2) Based on\ncommunity feedback and participation during the pilot phase, staff will bring back\na recommendation on whether or not to continue the program on an ongoing\nbasis; 3) Authorize the Director of Finance & Technology Services to approve the\nuse of up to $5,000 from budgeted funds in the Special Council Programs account\nnumber 100-1-01-00-531001 for costs associated with hiring a DJ, graphic\ndesign, and promotional materials for the program; 4) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate communication tools to promote the pilot\nprogram including, but not limited to, the City’s website, a press release, and\nsocial media tools.
