4. EDUCATIONAL SESSION ON RENT STABILIZATION ORDINANCE AND\nOLDER ADULTS [J. HEILMAN, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider hosting an educational session on the\nRent Stabilization Ordinance, specifically addressing the needs and concerns of\nolder adults.\nRECOMMENDATION: 1) Direct staff to host an educational session on the Rent\nStabilization Ordinance, specifically targeted towards older adults; 2) Authorize\nthe use of the City name and logo on invitations, programs, and other collateral\nmaterials for the event; 3) Direct the Communications Department to utilize all\nappropriate communication tools to promote the event including, but not limited\nto, the City’s website, a news release, and social media; 4) Authorize the Director\nof Finance and Technology Services to allocate up to $1,000 from Fiscal Year\n2024-25 funds in the Special Council Programs account number 100-1-01-00-\n531001 for costs associated with the event; and 5) Waive the Facility Use fee for\nuse a City facility and applicable parking fees for attendees (estimated $1,240 in\nwaived fees).
