Employ a Retired County Employee on a Temporary Basis\nRecommendation: Authorize the Sheriff to immediately reemploy Ms. Jill F.\nTorres as a 120-day temporary employee upon Board approval, and grant an\nexception to the 180-day waiting period required under the California Public\nEmployees' Pension Reform Act of 2013, as Ms. Torres has extensive\nknowledge of specific projects whereby her expertise is highly valued and\nneeded to transition or bring to closure; and approve the request to allow Ms.\nTorres to return as an Assistant Sheriff, Administration (UC) at a rate\ncommensurate with her assignment for up to 960 total hours in a fiscal year.\n(Sheriff’s Department) APPROVE (24-5549)
