PUBLIC HEARING - RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED USE OF\nFISCAL YEAR (FY) 2025-26 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT\n(CDBG) FUNDS\nSummary:\nThe City Council will conduct a public hearing and consider proposed uses for\nthe City’s FY 2025-26 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding\nallocation. The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) estimates\nthe City will receive approximately $70,146 to use on CDBG projects and\nprograms.\nStaff is proposing to allocate the funding for the continuation of the City’s Food\nDistribution programs and the construction of Americans with Disabilities Act\n(ADA) ramps and sidewalk improvements. If approved, the City Council is\nrequired to adopt a resolution affirming the use of CDBG funds for the projects.\nForm of Notice: Notice was published in the Signal Tribune newspaper per\nGovernment Code Section 65091(a)(4) and posted in accordance with the\nSignal Hill Municipal Code Section 1.08.010 on Friday, November 22, 2024.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 4 Infrastructure: Maintain and improve the City’s physical\ninfrastructure, water system, and recreational spaces.\nGoal No. 5 High-Functioning Government: Strengthen internal communication,\nrecruitment, retention, systems, and processes to increase the\neffectiveness and efficiency of City services.\nRecommendations:\n1. Adopt the following resolution, entitled:\nA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL\nHILL, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE CITY'S PROPOSED\nCOMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAMS FOR\nFISCAL YEAR 2025-26\n2. Approve the CDBG estimated allocation for FY 2025-26 in the amount of\n$70,146 and the proposed expenditures of these allocations.
