APPROVE A FEE WAIVER REQUEST FROM THE FRIENDS OF SIGNAL HILL\nLIBRARY FOR THE BOOK SALE\nSummary:\nStaff received a request from the Friends of Signal Hill Library (FOSHL), a\nSignal Hill based non-profit, for a facility fee waiver in the amount of $1,580 for\nthe use the Signal Hill Public Library to host a book sale fundraiser on Friday,\nApril 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The City Council will consider the\nwaiver request from FOSHL for facility and staff fees.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 5 High Functioning Government: Strengthen internal communication,\nrecruitment, retention, systems, and processes to increase the\neffectiveness and efficiency of City services.\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends the City Council approve the Friends of the Signal Hill Library\n(FOSHL) request for the waiver of fees for the use of the Signal Hill Library\nCommunity Room, supplies, and allow FOSHL to display promotional banners\nfor the book sale.
