PARKS, RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES (COMMUNITY SERVICES)\nCOMMISSION COMPOSITION\nBased on the recent difficulties in ensuring a quorum for the Community Services\nCommission and based on interest levels from the current pool of applicants, staff is\nrequesting the City Council consider reducing the membership of the Community\nServices Commission from seven members to five members (in alignment with the\nPlanning Commission and the Public Safety Committee).\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this item is not subject to California Environmental Quality Act\n(“CEQA”) pursuant to Sections 15378(b)(5)(Organizational or administrative activities\nor governments that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the\nenvironment); and\n2. Provide direction to staff regarding the potential reduction in membership from seven\nto five commissioners of the Parks, Recreation & Community Services (Community\nServices) Commission.\nJanuary 14, 2025
