7. Landscape Maintenance Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that landscape maintenance services can be performed\nmore economically by an outside landscape maintenance services operator\nthan by County employees; award and instruct the Chair to sign a three-year\ncontract with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., for the provision of landscape\nmaintenance services on public grounds in Marina del Rey (2) for the\nDepartment of Beaches and Harbors (DBH), with two one-year and six\nmonth-to-month extension options, commencing on March 1, 2025 through\nFebruary 29, 2028, at an annual contract amount of $638,064, for a total\nmaximum amount of $3,860,287 over the potential total term of five years and\nsix months, which is inclusive of any potential increase of 10% annually for any\nunforeseen increase in services, but excludes any potential Cost of Living\nAdjustments; find that the proposed action is not subject to the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act; and authorize the Director of Beaches and Harbors\nto take the following actions: (Department of Beaches and Harbors)\nAPPROVE\nExecute contract amendments to exercise the extension options, if, in the\nopinion of the Director, the contractor has effectively performed the\nservices during the previous contract period and services are still needed\nand required;\nIncrease the contract amount by up to 10% in any year of the contract,\nincluding any extension option, for any additional or unforeseen services\nwithin the scope of the contract subject to the availability of funds in\nDBH's budget, and to make any potential Cost of Living Adjustments after\nthe first three years of the contract; and\nExecute change orders and amendments to incorporate necessary\nchanges within the scope of work, execute amendments should the\ncontracting entity merge, be acquired or otherwise change entities, and\nsuspend or terminate the contract, if in the opinion of the Director, it is in\nthe best interest of the County.
