16. REINITIATE THE WILDFIRE MITIGATION AND FIRE SAFETY AD\nHOC COMMITTEE\nRecommendations:\n(1) Approve the re-establishment of the Wildfire Mitigation and Fire Safety\nAd Hoc Committee;\n(2) Appoint City Council members Kempf and Whalen to serve on the\ncommittee;\n(3) Direct the Ad Hoc Committee to work with the League of California\nCities and State representatives to advocate for legislation that exempts fuel\nmodification, utility undergrounding projects, and other wildfire measures\nfrom the requirements of the Coastal Act and CEQA; and\n(4) Direct the committee to return to the Council with an updated action\nplan addressing wildfire mitigation and fire safety priorities within 90 days\n(by April 28, 2025).
