Public Works – Adopt Categorical Exemption Under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)\nSection 15301(c) – Existing Facilities (Class 1), Approve Specifications, and Award Public Works\nAgreement for Sidewalk Improvements for Disabled Accessibility, I-135. Expenditure: $929,470\n(Non-General Funds).\nRecommendation of the Public Works Director that City Council:\n1. Adopt a finding that the project is categorically exempt under the California Environmental Quality\nAct (CEQA) pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(c) – Existing Facilities (Class 1) and\nthat there are no features that distinguish this project from others in exempt class, and therefore,\nthere are no unusual circumstances; and\n2. Approve specifications for the Sidewalk Improvements for Disabled Accessibility, I-135 (B2024-14);\nand\n3. Award a public works agreement to Kalban, Inc. of Santa Clarita, CA (B2024-14) in the amount of\n$808,235 and authorize a 15% contingency in the amount of $121,235 for construction of the\nSidewalk Improvements for Disabled Accessibility, I-135 for a two-year period beginning January 28,\n2025 and ending January 27, 2027.
