17.f AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR CIP 603–SOUTH PARK SLOPE,\nIRRIGATION, AND LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS AND APPROPRIATE\nMETROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT (MWD) TURF REMOVAL GRANT FOR CIP\n603 PROJECT REIMBURSEMENT - 25-PW-010\nCEQA: Determine that CIP 603–South Park Slope, Irrigation, and Landscape\nImprovements, is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to\nCEQA Guidelines Section 15301(Existing Facilities). The proposed are sustainable\nand functional improvements of an existing park.\n(Public Works Director Joe SanClemente)\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommend City Council:\n1. Award a construction contract for Capital Improvement Program Project\n603–South Park Slope, Irrigation, and Landscape Improvements to Superb\nEngineering, Inc. in the amount of $393,273.20 (Attachment 1);\n2. Authorize the Director of Public Works to establish a contract contingency in\nthe amount of $60,000 (approximately fifteen percent) and approve contract\nchange orders up to the amount of the approved contract contingency;\n3. Adopt the attached resolution entitled “A Resolution of the City Council of\nthe City Council of Hermosa Beach Approving the Construction of CIP\n603–South Park Slope, Irrigation, and Landscape Improvements Project\nPursuant to Government Code Section 830.6 and Establishing a Project\nPayment Account” (Attachment 2);\n4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the construction contract and the City Clerk\nto attest, subject to approval by the City Attorney;\n5. Accept $96,242 in grant funds from the Metropolitan Water District of\nSouthern California (MWD) Turf Removal Grant for CIP 603 project\nreimbursement;\n6. Appropriate $96,242 and add estimated revenue of $96,242 in the Grants\nFund for the MWD Turf Removal Grant for CIP 603 project reimbursement;\n7. Release $96,242 of CIP 603 project budget back to the Capital\nImprovement Fund fund balance; and\n8. Authorize the Director of Public Works to file a Notice of Completion\nfollowing final completion of the project.
