A. Adopt Resolution No. 2023- 15 Opposing the Taxpayer Protection and Government\nAccountability Act Ballot Measure\nThe City Council will consider adopting a resolution in opposition to the Taxpayer\nProtection and Government Accountability Act, a California Business Roundtable\nCBRT) initiative which has qualified for placement on the November 5, 2024,\ngeneral election ballot. The measure, if approved, would amend the California\nConstitution to restrict the ability of the state, counties, other local agencies, and the\nelectorate to approve or collect taxes, fees, and other revenues. Therefore, it is\nrecommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2023- 15 opposing the\nTaxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act ballot measure.\nRecommendation: That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2023- 15, entitled:\nA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF\nTHE CITY OF ROSEMEAD, CALIFORNIA, IN\nOPPOSITION TO INITIATIVE 21- 0042A1, THE\nTAXPAYER PROTECTION AND GOVERNMENT\nACCOUNTABILITY ACT
