F.6. SPONSORSHIP OF A HEALTHY CITY BY\nDESIGN SYMPOSIUM [L. MEISTER, C.\nBYERS, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL\nTORO]:]\nThe City Council will consider sponsoring a\nsymposium, Healthy City by Design, which will\nexplore the fundamental role that design,\nprogramming, and urban policy initiatives can\nplay in supporting healthier urbanized settings.\nThe symposium is anticipated to take place\nduring the second quarter of 2025 in the City’s\nCouncil Chambers.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to\norganize a symposium during the second\nquarter of 2025 entitled: Healthy City By\nDesign, which will explore the fundamental\nrole that design, programming, and urban\npolicy initiatives can play in supporting\nhealthier urbanized settings; 2) Authorize the\nuse of the City name and logo on invitations,\nprograms, and other collateral materials for the\nevent; 3) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate\ncommunication tools to promote the event\nincluding, but not limited to, the City's website,\na news release, and social media; 4) Direct the\nCommunications Department to broadcast and\nlive stream the event on the City's television\nand web-based properties; 5) Authorize the\nDirector of Finance and Technology Services\nto allocate up to $9,000 from unallocated\nGeneral Fund reserves to the Special Council\nPrograms Account 100-1-01-00-531001 for\ncosts associated with the event, and increase\nthe budget for Special Council Programs by\nthe same amount; 6) Authorize the Director of\nFinance and Technology Services to allocate\nup to $9,000 from Fiscal Year 2024-25 funds in\nthe Special Council Programs account number\n100-1-01-00-531001 for costs associated with\nthe event; and 7) Waive the Facility Use fee for\nthe City Council Chambers for the event,\nparking fees at the 5-story parking lot for\nattendees, and any other ancillary City permits\nthat may be required for the event (estimated\n$1,240 in waived fees).
