APPOINTING MEMBERS TO ATTEND THE\nNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LATINO ELECTED & APPOINTED\nOFFICIALS (NALEO) 40TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE, JULY 10-14,\n2023, TO BE HELD AT THE NEW YORK MARRIOTT MARQUIS, NEW\nYORK CITY\nThe NALEO Educational Fund provides national leadership on key issues\nthat affect Latino participation in our political process, including\nimmigration and naturalization, voting rights, election reform, the Census\nand the appointment of qualified Latinos to top executive and judicial\npositions. Attendance to conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings\nare fundamentally important to the advancement and education of local\nelected officials. Attendance to conferences, seminars, workshops and\nmeetings informs cities on changing policies and National City issues.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION: City Council to appoint all or any members of\nthe City Council and/or staff to attend the upcoming NALEO Conference,\nJuly 11-14, 2023, to be held in New York City.
