9. NOTICE INVITING BIDS: MAIN STREET AND FOURTH STREET SEWER MAIN\nREPLACEMENT PROJECT - PHASE 2 – F2M22-53, N2M25-36\nThe Sewer Master Plan identifies Main Street (from Atlantic to Fourth Street), Fourth\nStreet from Main Street to Mission Road, as deficient in capacity and recommends\nreplacement of the existing sewer main with a larger diameter sewer main. This project\nwill replace approximately 2,245 feet of existing 8-inch to 12-inch sewer main with 18-inch\nto 21-inch sewer main. The proposed project involves construction in two phases, with the\nfirst phase project on Fourth Street (from Commonwealth Avenue to Mission Road), and\nMission Road (from Fourth Street to Garfield Avenue) has been completed. This project\nis for Phase 2, which will be on Main Street (from Atlantic Boulevard to Fourth Street) and\non Fourth Street from (Main Street to Commonwealth Avenue). Plans and specifications\nhave been prepared. Staff has reviewed the plans and found them to be consistent with\nthe City’s standards.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nto qualified contractors for the Main Street and Fourth Street Sewer Main Replacement\nProject – Phase 2 with bids due no later than 10:30 a.m. on April 24, 2025 and opened at\n11:00 a.m. that same day; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize\nthe Council’s action.
