15. AUTHORIZE RFP: TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND STREET LIGHT SERVICES – F2M25-31,\nRFP2M25-5\nThe City of Alhambra owns and operates traffic signals and street lighting systems\nthroughout the City. These systems require maintenance, and at times, emergency\nrepairs. In an effort to efficiently maintain and upgrade the current systems, increase\nproductivity and shorten traffic signal and street light down time, staff is seeking to obtain\nthe services of a licensed electrical contracting firm. The current contract with Yunex\nexpires on June 30, 2025. The prospective company will provide routine traffic signal and\nstreet light maintenance services, emergency repair services, non-emergency\nmaintenance and new equipment upgrades and installation. Staff has prepared\nspecifications for distribution to qualified firms.\nRecommended Action: City Council authorize the distribution of Request for\nProposals for Traffic Signal and Street Light Services with proposals due no later than\n4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary\nto finalize the Council’s action.
