AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON, CALIFORNIA\nADDING CHAPTER 1.14 TO THE STANTON MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE\nUSE OF OFFICIAL INDICIA OF THE CITY OF STANTON AND AMENDING THE CITY\nCOUNCIL RULES OF ORDER\nThe City has recently adopted a new formal seal and logo. To ensure that these official\nindicia are used exclusively for authorized City purposes, staff developed the attached\nordinance establishing clear guidelines for their use and incorporated necessary updates\ninto the City Council Rules of Order for consistency. If approved, this Ordinance will add\nChapter 1.14 to the Stanton Municipal Code (SMC) to provide a comprehensive\nframework for the lawful use of City indicia and specify penalties for any unauthorized or\nimproper use.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council introduce Ordinance No. 1161 entitled:\nMarch 25, 2025\n“AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON,\nCALIFORNIA ADDING CHAPTER 1.14 TO THE STANTON MUNICIPAL\nCODE RELATING TO THE USE OF OFFICIAL INDICIA OF THE CITY OF\nSTANTON AND FINDING THE ORDINANCE TO BE EXEMPT FROM THE\nCALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT”; and\n2. Find that this Ordinance is exempt from the requirements of the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to Cal. Code Regs. §§ 15378(a) and\n15061(b)(3); and\n3. Repeal Resolution No. 90-64 approved by the City Council on October 9, 1990,\nentitled “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Stanton Establishing a Policy\nfor Use and Dissemination of the Official City Logo”; and\n4. Adopt Resolution No. 2025-06 approving the City Council Rules of Order dated March\n25, 2025, entitled:\n“A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON,\nCALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE CITY COUNCIL RULES OF ORDER,\nDATED MARCH 25, 2025”; and\n5. Set said ordinance for adoption at the April 8, 2025, regularly scheduled City Council\nmeeting.
