F.2. GO-GO DANCER APPRECIATION DAY [D. HANG, C. BYERS, Y.\nQUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing staff to reinstate Go-\nGo Dancer Appreciation Day as an annual event in the City of West\nHollywood in collaboration with community partners and local businesses.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to reinstate Go-Go Dancer\nAppreciation Day as an annual event in West Hollywood, including\nofficially declaring Go-Go Dancer Appreciation Day to recognize the\ncontributions of Go-Go dancers to West Hollywood’s LGBTQ+ history,\nnightlife, and culture; 2) Request staff return to the City Council with\nadditional information on the proposed event including, timing,\nprogramming concepts, potential business partnerships, and special event\nfee waiver requests; and 3) Direct the Communications Department to\nutilize all appropriate communication tools to promote this initiative,\nincluding but not limited to the City’s website and social media tools.
