INTERVIEWS AND APPOINTMENTS TO THE CIVIL SERVICE, PARKS AND\nRECREATION, AND PLANNING COMMISSIONS\nSummary:\nThe City opened a recruitment seeking residents interested in serving on the\nCivil Service, Parks and Recreation, and Planning Commissions. The City\nCouncil will conduct interviews of all qualifying candidates who applied for a\nCommission appointment. At the conclusion of the interviews, the City Council\nwill make appointments to fill the vacant seats on each of the Commissions.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 5: High-Functioning Government: Strengthen internal communication,\nrecruitment, retention, systems, and processes to increase the\neffectiveness and efficiency of City services.\nRecommendation:\nConduct interviews and make the following appointments:\n1. Civil Service Commission: Appoint three individuals to fill three seats\nexpiring on May 31, 2025;one of the three open seats is currently vacant.\nThe terms for the appointed Commissioners will run from June 1, 2025\nthrough May 31, 2029.\n2. Parks and Recreation Commission: Appoint three individuals to fill three\nseats expiring on May 31, 2025. The terms for the appointed\nCommissioners will run from June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2029.\n3. Planning Commission: Appoint three individuals to fill three seats expiring\non May 31, 2025. The terms for the appointed Commissioners will run\nfrom June 1, 2025 through May 31, 2029
