5.C. FIRE DEPARTMENT REVIEW OF NEW\nDEVELOPMENT PROJECTS [L. MEISTER, J.\nERICKSON, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, J. DEL\nTORO]:\nThe City Council will consider directing staff to\ndiscuss with Los Angeles County Fire Department\nways to improve the review and evaluation of new\ndevelopment projects prior to new developments\nreceiving entitlements.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to discuss with\nLos Angeles County Fire Department ways to\nimprove the review and evaluation of new\ndevelopment projects prior to new developments\nreceiving entitlements; 2) Direct staff to modify the\nenvironmental review questionnaire sent to the Los\nAngeles County Fire Department to include specific\nquestions related to issues that could impact design,\nmitigations, or conditions of approval, such as\naccess, required tree removal, width of street or\nparkway required, etc.; and 3) Direct staff to discuss\nthe Fire Department's project review and\nrequirements on a Countywide level with relevant\nparties, which may include the Los Angeles County\nBoard of Supervisors, California Contract Cities\nAssociation, and League of California Cities, to\nensure consistency and accuracy.\nSTAFF REPORT
