12.2 Updated Inventory for Vacant and/or Abandoned Property\nCitywide to Include Vacant Lease Space and Partially Vacant\nProperty Over 5,000 SF\nRECOMMENDATION: It is staff’s recommendation that the City\nCouncil take one of the following actions:\n1. Receive and file this report and take no further action; or\n2. Direct staff to coordinate with the City’s Economic\nDevelopment consultant to identify five to ten (5-10) priority\nproperties and identify opportunities for each property and\nthen work to market the properties for the benefit of the\ncommunity; or\n3. Direct staff to prepare a vacant property registration\nordinance for consideration at a future public hearing; or\n4. Direct staff to investigate/initiate ballot tax measure.\nCONCLUSION: Proper management, monitoring and marketing of\nvacant, underutilized, and abandoned sites are crucial to promoting\nan economically sustainable environment that impact the quality of\nlife for all residents and visitors alike.\nFISCAL IMPACT: None.\nATTACHMENT: None.
