4.1. Historic Commercial Vehicle Parking Policy Discussion and Direction\nRECOMMENDATION:\nStaff recommends that the City Council provide policy direction on whether to:\n1. Maintain the City’s Current Prohibition on the parking and storage of commercial\nvehicles in or adjacent to residential districts, regardless of historic status; OR\n2. Direct Staff to Prepare an Ordinance creating a narrowly tailored exemption for\nhistorically registered commercial vehicles, including explicit Council direction\non minimum lot sizes, setbacks, vehicle limitations, screening, and operational\nrestrictions as outlined above.\nStaff further recommends that, if Council desires to proceed with a carveout, such\nexemptions be strictly limited to large parcels and subject to significant mitigation\nmeasures to preserve the character and integrity of residential neighborhoods.\nDepartment: Community Development
