19. Support for Wildfire Relief Legislation\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Barger: Direct the Chief\nExecutive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental\nRelations Branch, to support Assembly Bill (AB) 239, legislation which would\nestablish a State-led Disaster Housing Task Force, jointly convened by the\nCalifornia Department of Housing and Community Development and the Office\nof Emergency Services, AB 493, the Disaster Interest Accrual Act, legislation\nwhich would ensure that interest earned on disaster insurance fund payments\ngo to homeowners rather than banks, AB 597 the Insurance Payment\nProtection Act, legislation which would prevent unfair fees and price gouging by\npublic adjusters, particularly after major disasters, and applies to residential\nproperties and certain commercial properties, AB 797 the Community\nStabilization Act, legislation which would allow qualified investors, such as\nnonprofits, to fund the purchase and management of residential properties, and\nAB 1032, the Wildfire Trauma Recovery and Resiliency Act, legislation which\nwould require health care service plans and insurers, on or after January 1,\n2026, to reimburse an eligible enrollee for up to 12 annual visits per year with a\nlicensed behavioral health provider if the enrollee is in a county where a local or\nState emergency has been declared due to wildfires.
