21.b AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR CIP 699 PARKING LOT C\nSTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS - 25-PW-013\nCEQA: Determine that CIP 699, Parking Lot C Structure Improvements, is exempt\nfrom the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section\n15301(Existing Facilities). The proposed project scope involves functional\nimprovements to the existing parking structure.\n(Public Works Director Joe SanClemente)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends City Council:\n1. Award a construction contract for Capital Improvement Program Project 699\nParking Lot C Improvements to Slater Waterproofing Inc. in the amount of\n$1,740,542 (Attachment 1);\n2. Authorize the Director of Public Works to establish a project contingency in\nthe amount of $262,000 (approximately fifteen percent) and approve\ncontract change orders up to the amount of the approved project\ncontingency;\n3. Adopt the attached resolution entitled “A Resolution of the City Council of\nthe City Council of Hermosa Beach Approving the Construction of CIP 699\nParking Lot C Improvements Project Pursuant to Government Code Section\n830.6 and Establishing a Project Payment Account” (Attachment 2);\n4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the construction contract and the City Clerk\nto attest, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and\n5. Authorize the Director of Public Works to file a Notice of Completion\nfollowing final completion of the project.
