9G.\nACCEPTANCE OF THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER RENOVATION (PHASE II)\nPROJECT (TASK CODE NO. 2023-201) BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF\nSTANTON, CALIFORNIA\nThe Family Resource Center Renovation (Phase II) Project consisting of\nremoval/demolition of the existing play equipment and installation of new equipment,\nrubberized surfacing, French drain and sumps, and site furnishings is now complete. The\nfinal construction cost for the project was $238,000, the contract award amount. The City\nEngineer, in his judgment, certifies that the work was satisfactorily completed as of May\n22, 2025, and recommends that the City Council accept the completed work performed\non this project.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (“CEQA”), Class 2, Section 15302 as replacement of existing structures and\nfacilities; and\n2. Accept the completion of improvements for the Family Resource Center Renovation\n(Phase II) Project, as certified by the City Engineer, and affix the date of May 22, 2025,\nas the date of completion of all work on this project; and\n3. Approve the final construction contract amount of $238,000 with A2Z Construct, Inc.;\nand\n4. Direct the City Clerk within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance to file the Notice\nof Completion (Attachment) with the County Clerk-Recorder of the County of Orange;\nand\n5. Direct City staff, after thirty-five (35) days has elapsed from the filing of the “Notice of\nCompletion” with the County Clerk-Recorder, to make the retention payment to A2Z\nConstruct, Inc. in the amount of $11,900.\nStanton City Council Agenda\nJune 10, 2025
