B. UPDATE ON THE RIDESG SERVICE AND AWARD OF AGREEMENT WITH\nLAZ PARKING CALIFORNIA LLC FOR CONTRACT OPERATIONS FOR\nMICROTRANSIT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES (RIDESG) IN THE AMOUNT\nOF $817,258.00 FOR THE FIRST YEAR\nThe City of San Gabriel operates an on-demand micro transit service, RideSG.\nThe program allows residents and visitors alike to travel anywhere within the\nCity of San Gabriel. Additional benefits are available through the RideSG Plus\nmembership for residents 62 years of age and older and residents with a\ndisability. At the November 19, 2024 City Council meeting, the Council adopted\nchanges to the service including expanded service hours and changes to the\nuse parameters for RideSG Plus riders. The contract with the City’s current\nprovider, TransDev, will expire on June 30. As approved by City Council on June\n3, 2025, the RideSG account number (181-850-49-81-000) has $858,890\nallocated for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. These funds are restricted for\n8\ntransportation services. The contract with LAZ Parking California, LLC to operate\nthe microtransit transportation services (RideSG) is $817,258 for the first year,\nresulting in a budget savings of $41,632. The only additional cost under the\ncontract is a nominal fee charged of $5.96 per call for customer service support\nprovided outside of City staff hours.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute\nthe professional services agreement with LAZ Parking California, LLC and any\nother necessary documents pending review and approval by the City Attorney.\nAlternatives to Staff Recommendations:\n1. Select another vendor from the list of responders.\n2. Send the item back to staff to determine additional alternatives.\n3. Other options that the City Council determines after discussing the item.
