A. APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT WITH DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH FOR\nHEALTH OFFICER SERVICES – 2ND READING & ADOPTION [ORDINANCE\nNO. 720]\nThe City of San Gabriel uses the Los Angeles County Public Health Code as the\n“Health Code” for the City. The Los Angeles County Department of Public\nHealth approached all 85 cities within Los Angeles County, including San\nGabriel, about updating the agreement that provides updated public health\nservices for cities. At its regular meeting on June 3, 2025, the City Council\nintroduced Ordinance 720, conducted a first reading by title only, scheduled a\npublic hearing, second reading, and adoption for the next regular meeting.\n6\nGenerally, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health administers\nlocal public health services to the City of San Gabriel and other municipalities\nat no cost. Any costs for inspection services requested by the City will be done\nwithin current budgets. There is no fiscal impact resulting from the adoption of\nthe proposed ordinance.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Conduct the public hearing.\n2. Approve the Agreement with Los Angeles County for Public Health Services\nand authorize the City Manager to execute the Agreement.\n3. Waive reading and adopt Ordinance No. 720.
