Item S506:\nAllocation of SeaWorld Settlement Funds to Projects Within the Mission Bay Park\nand Regional Park Improvement Funds.\n(Added 6/18/25)\nThis item will be considered in the morning session which is scheduled to begin at\n10:00 a.m.\nTotal Estimated Cost of Proposed Action and Funding Source:\n$4,683,488 in Mission Bay Park Improvement Funds will be allocated to the eight capital\nimprovement projects. $2,779,876 in Regional Park Improvement Fund will be allocated\nto the seven capital improvement projects.\nCouncil District(s) Affected: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6.\nProposed Actions:\n(R-2025-546)\nResolution authorizing the use of a portion of the $8,500,000 Seaworld settlement funds\n(funds) to augment the actual Fiscal Year 2024 revenues and Fiscal Year 2025 projections\nshortfall of $195,124.30 in the Regional Park Improvement Fund (RPIF) and shortfall of\n$362,373.70 in the Mission Bay Park Improvement Fund (MBPIF) that were not realized,\nas well as address the Fiscal Year 2025 revenues that are trending lower than projected;\nAuthorizing the allocation of the remaining funds balance after allocation for the FY 2024\nshortfall of $2,779,875.70 in the RPIF and $5,162,626.30 in the MBPIF, for a total of\n$7,942,502, to 15 Parks and Recreation Department CIP projects;\nAuthorizing the Chief Financial Officer to increase the Capital Improvement Program\n(CIP) Budgets in 7 CIPs and to appropriate and expend $2,779,875.70 from Fund 200391,\nSan Diego Regional Parks Improvements;\nAuthorizing the Chief Financial Officer to increase the CIP Budgets in 8 CIPs and to\nappropriate and expend $5,162,626.30 from Fund 200386, Mission Bay Park\nImprovements; and for all related actions.\nCommittee Actions Taken:\nThis item was heard at the Community and Neighborhood Services Committee meeting\non April 24, 2025.\nACTION: Motion by Chair Campbell, second by Committee Member Foster III, to\nrecommend Council approval of staff’s proposed actions.\nVOTE: 2-0; Campbell-yea, Foster III-yea, Campillo-not present.\nParks & Recreation: Ryan Barbrick, (619) 235-1185\nCity Attorney Contact: Jane M.
