13. ACCEPTANCE OF THE OFFICER WELLNESS AND MENTAL HEALTH GRANT FROM\nTHE BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS (BSCC) CALIFORNIA –\nF2M23-18, M2M23-47\nThe Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant Program, established in the 2022 State\nBudget Act, provides $50 million for city and county law enforcement agencies for\nimproving officer wellness and expanding mental health resources. BSCC allocated\n$56,868.70 to the City of Alhambra. The grant period is from July 1, 2022 to December 1,\n2025. The Police Department intends to utilize these grant funds to expand on its Officer\nWellness Program. Programs may include a wellness app, peer support training and other\nprograms allowed by the grant.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept the Officer Wellness and Mental Health\nGrant from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) California in the\namount of $56,868.70; appropriate revenue and expenditure funds in the amount of\n$56,868.70; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.\n(M2M23-47)
