9. RESOLUTION TO ADJUST THE CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION LIMIT PER THE\nREQUIREMENTS OF CHARTER SECTION 101C(C) – F2M23-36, R2M23-16\nStaff is requesting that the City Council adopt a Resolution to adjust the campaign\ncontribution limit from $250 to $280. Section 101C(C) of Alhambra’s Charter states: “The\nCity Council shall adjust the contribution limits established in this section in March of every\nodd numbered year to reflect any increase or decrease in the California Consumer Price\nIndex since the last such adjustment of the contribution limit. Such adjustments shall be\nrounded to the nearest ten and no/100ths ($10.00) dollar amount.” The initial campaign\ncontribution limit amount was set at $250 in December, 2020. According to the U.S.\nBureau of Labor Statistics, the CPI change from December, 2020 through December,\n2022 is 13%. Therefore, the current campaign contribution amount of $250, rounded to\nthe nearest $10 becomes $280.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt Resolution No. R2M23-16 entitled: A\nResolution of the Alhambra City Council adjusting the campaign contribution limit per the\nrequirements of Charter Section 101C(C)
