PROVIDE DIRECTION ON TENANT PROTECTION MEASURES, INCLUDING: ( 1) TENANT\nASSISTANCE; ( 2) INTRODUCTION AND FIRST READING OF AN ANTI-HARASSMENT\nORDINANCE; ( 3) DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND MEDIATION SERVICES; AND ( 4) A LOCAL\nRENTAL REGISTRY ( FUNDING SOURCES: GENERAL FUND AND AMERICAN RESCUE\nPLAN ACT ( ARPA) FUND)\nRecommendation: Staff recommends the City Council:\nA. Receive an update and provide direction to staff regarding the Claremont\nTemporary Housing Stabilization and Relocation Program;\nB. Consider introducing for first reading and that reading by title only AN\nORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLAREMONT,\nCALIFORNIA, ADDING CHAPTER 8.35 (" PROHIBITION OF TENANT\nHARASSMENT") TO TITLE 8 ("HEALTH AND SAFETY") OF THE\nCLAREMONT MUNICIPAL CODE, PROHIBITING THE HARASSMENT OF\nTENANTS;\nC. Provide policy direction to staff regarding funding for " dispute resolution"\nand/or "mediation" services to address landlord/ tenant disputes; and\nD. Provide policy direction to staff regarding the implementation of a\nClaremont Rental Registry.\nEach of the items above are policy decisions for the City Council.
