6.F. EXPANSION OF THE LOCAL CURRENT BAN ON THE RETAIL SALES\nOF DOGS AND CATS TO INCLUDE OTHER ANIMAL SPECIES [C.\nBYERS, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO, H. MOLINA]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing the City Attorney to\nresearch the feasibility of expanding the current ban on retail sales of dogs\nand cats in West Hollywood to add other animal species to the list.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct the City Attorney to research and\nanalyze the feasibility of expanding the current ban on the retail sales of\ndogs and cats in West Hollywood to add additional animal species to the\ncurrent ban; and 2) If the research determines that the ordinance is\nappropriate and defensible, the City Attorney shall return to the City\nCouncil with the results of the analysis and recommendations for further\nconsideration.\nEXCLUDED CONSENT CALENDAR: Items removed from the Consent Calendar for\nseparate discussion are considered at this time.\nPUBLIC COMMENT: This time has been set aside for the public to address the\nCouncil on any item of interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the\nCouncil that could not be heard under Item 1 at the beginning of the meeting.\nCOUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS AND MEETING ATTENDANCE REPORTS: This\nportion of the meeting is set aside for general comments, announcements,\nrequests of staff, subcommittee meeting reports, and/or other issues of concern\nfrom members of the City Council.
