37. Operation of the Mobile Stroke Unit Sole Source Agreement\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Health Services to enter into a sole\nsource agreement with The Regents of the University of California, on behalf of\nthe University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, for the\nprovision of support for the Mobile Stroke Unit, for a period of six months, from\nOctober 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024, effective upon execution, in the\namount not to exceed $1,100,000, with up to a six-month extension option, in\nany increments deemed, at the discretion of the Director, to be in the best\ninterest of County; execute future amendments to the agreement to exercise the\noption to extend the agreement terms and increase the County’s maximum\nobligation by no more than $1,100,000, approve necessary changes to the\nscope of work, add, delete, and/or change non-substantive terms and\nconditions in the agreements, make other changes as required by the Board, or\nto comply with Federal and State law or regulation, to any executed\nagreements; and terminate the UCLA agreement in accordance with the\ntermination provisions within the agreement.
